With spectacles starting at £75, including any frame, standard lenses, and anti-glare coating, Pop Specs seeks to disrupt the traditional eyewear industry. The goal is to become a destination for instant, stylish eyewear that complements fashion retailers and transforms the high street shopping experience.
Role Description
The Optical Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Milton Keynes, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Pop Specs kiosk and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role includes:

The Optical Manager will oversee inventory control, ensuring that frames, lenses, and supplies are adequately stocked and organized. They will assist customers with frame selection, lens options, and product information, while ensuring prescriptions are handled accurately and glasses are produced within the promised time. The role also involves:
- Coaching and training team members
- Maintaining store presentation
- Monitoring performance metrics
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and any relevant optical standards
Qualifications
- Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to create a welcoming, engaging in-store experience.
- Experience in retail operations and Inventory Control, including stock management, ordering, and merchandising.
- Background in optical environments or familiarity with optical products and processes; awareness of the Optical industry is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to provide Training and coaching to team members, including onboarding new staff and supporting ongoing skill development
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role in retail, optical, or customer-focused environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage fast-paced operations and meet turnaround commitments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members and customers.
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays, as required; basic IT literacy and comfort with point-of-sale and optical equipment.
