About the Role
You’ll be a hands-on professional responsible for planning, executing, and managing customer-focused activities within Pharmacy and Optical, aligning efforts with Asda’s commercial objectives and brand ambitions.
This role covers the full lifecycle of campaigns—from planning to execution—across in-store, online, POS (point-of-sale), social media, and paid media. You will drive growth, ensure compliance, and build coherent, impactful customer communications.

Responsibilities
Marketing Ownership for Pharmacy & Optical
- Lead the development and execution of the marketing calendar for Pharmacy and Optical, aligned with commercial and customer objectives.
- Deliver end-to-end campaigns, including seasonal promotions (e.g. flu, allergy), product launches, range changes, and customer events.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with category, commercial, digital, and media teams to maximise impact across all channels.
Media & POS Planning
- Oversee POS execution plans for all stores and formats, in partnership with the POS Business Partner.
- Support paid media planning with Global Category Header (GHS) and external agencies, ensuring Healthcare receives appropriate weighting and measurable ROI.
- Lead creative brief writing and communications strategy to ensure messaging is data-driven and customer-focused.

Digital Content & Social Media
- Work with Digital & Online Doctor teams to maintain compliance, commercial alignment, and updates on Asda.com and Asda Online Doctor content.
- Develop and deliver a social media strategy, increasing reach, relevance and engagement, including seasonal campaigns, colleague features, and service promotions.
- Explore activation of Pharmacy & Optical through Asda’s corporate communications, PR, and influencer networks.
PR, Campaign Visibility, and Local Toolkits
- Liaise with the Asda PR team to generate awareness of innovations, key achievements, and community impact in Healthcare.
- Build targeted campaign toolkits for local activation.
- Ensure visibility of Pharmacy & Optical campaigns in internal trade forums, comms updates, and stakeholder meetings.
Campaign Performance & Reporting
- Monitor campaign performance and provide post-campaign evaluations with key learnings.
- Assign responsibility for managing the Healthcare marketing budget, working closely with Finance to and ensure cost efficiency and reinvestment opportunities.
Leadership of the Customer Activity Plan
- Own the Healthcare customer activity plan end-to-end, integrating trade, commercial and marketing inputs into a coherent calendar.
- Align all customer touchpoints (POS, digital, social, in-store and media) to reflect commercial goals and use tactical prompts to support objectives.
- Control and govern delivery, benchmarking activities across every stage, including:
- Introduction via campaign set-up or altered brief.
- Execution to delivery.
- Performance metrics tracking.
- Act as the main sign-off point for all Pharmacy & Optical live customer activities.
- Drive discipline in quarterly campaign timelines, ensuring everything reaches audiences precisely, on-budget, and with full expected impact.
- Lead governance through clear visibility via trackers, updates, performance reports and regular progress reviews.
