Analytics & Optimisation Analyst
About the Role
The successful applicant will join the Analytics and Optimisation team within the Technology Product department. This team supports a market-leading online groceries proposition, a new Marketplace proposition, the Clubcard proposition, and digital in-store entities.
The Analytics and Optimisation team provides insight and learning to the Product, Trading, and UX teams, helping drive data-driven decision-making. The role is focused on advancing optimisation practices to establish a best-in-class testing programme.
Key Responsibilities
This position reports to the Analytics Manager for Optimisation. While responsibilities may evolve with Tesco’s business needs, core duties include:
- Analysing test results in Loyalty & Support product spaces, delivering simple yet engaging insights with actionable recommendations to improve digital products and customer experiences.
- Analysing customer behaviour using big data from multiple sources, collaborating with the UX research team to identify CX improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring test reliability through appropriate statistical testing methods applied to test data.
- Continuously evaluating and improving the AB test analysis process, exploring efficiency enhancements.
- Investigating automation opportunities for existing analysis workflows to streamline decision-making for Optimisation Managers and stakeholders.
- Partnering with the Analytics Capabilities team to guarantee robust tracking and measurement in place.
- Presenting insights clearly to audiences, including Product, UX, and Engineering teams.
- Collaborating with the finance team to deliver accurate and representative financial benefit forecasts.
- Mentoring Associate Optimisation Analysts in their role.

Essential Requirements
- Experience in big data manipulation, business intelligence, and data visualisation, working across multiple data sources.
- Strong communication skills—the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A data-driven mindset, with analytical and problem-solving skills to translate data into actionable customer experience improvements.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and contributing across the product development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of AB testing methodology or appreciation for the value of optimisation.
- Proficiency in SQL.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Adobe Analytics
- Experience with Tableau
- Familiarity with AB testing tools
