Optometrist
Optometrist – Part-time (36 hours/week) | Peterborough
About the Role
Location: Peterborough Employment Type: Part-time, Permanent Shift Pattern: Days Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits
At Asda Opticians, the health and wellbeing of our customers come first. This part-time Optometrist role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional service.
A typical day includes:
- Conducting eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service checks
- Supporting the Dispensing Optician Manager in training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards
Due to our NHS contracts, you’ll provide a wide range of eye care treatments and monitoring services. Asda is fully committed to supporting you, whether you need additional accreditations orprotected training time.

The Skills You’ll Bring
✔ A fully qualified Optometrist, registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) ✔ Registered performer status with your NHS area team or health board ✔ MECs or WECs accreditation (will be funded & supported within 12 months of joining) ✔ On track to meet the required CPD points for statutory compliance ✔ A passion for delivering a memorable customer experience ✔ Keen to develop new patient services and shape the department’s values
Must have:
- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK
- NHS performer listing (for desired region) or clinical references
- WECS & WGOS module accreditation if applying in Wales
