As an Optometrist here, you’ll be the go-to for eye examinations and contact lens services, helping us keep the nation seeing 20/20.

You’ll work with the store team to deliver high-standard clinical care and customer service to meet both patient needs and business objectives. And of course, you’ll be a key part in creating a warm and friendly environment for our customers and our team.

New Contract in Wales

In October 2023, a new contract for the delivery of eye care services in the community came into force in Wales - Wales General Ophthalmic Services (WGOS). Under the new regulations, optometrists will be able to fully utilize their professional higher accreditations when delivering eye care at primary level.

Non-WGOS registered Optometrists can contact HEIW at heiw.optometry@wales.nhs.uk for information on mandatory training and NWSSP at nwssp-primarycareservices@wales.nhs.uk for information on registration.

We do need you to have a few skills to get started in this role. Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date).
