Optometrist
Optometrist – Stonehaven, Scotland
Want to be the reason why people should’ve gone to Specsavers? As an Optometrist here, you’ll be the go-to for eye examinations and contact lens services, helping us keep the nation seeing 20/20.
About the Role
You’ll work with the store team to deliver high-standard clinical care and customer service to meet both patient needs and business objectives. And of course, you’ll be a key part in creating a warm and friendly environment for our customers and our team.
Our Store
Specsavers in Stonehaven first opened its doors in 2010. The store sits in a prime location in Market Square in the heart of the town and is firmly embedded within the local community.
Stonehaven, a pretty harbour town, lies on Scotland’s northeast coast, south of Aberdeen. Famous for its Hogmanay Fireball festival, an ancient tradition celebrated each New Year’s Eve where people swing blazing balls above their heads to ward off evil spirits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
