Position: Optometrist

Location: Colchester, Essex

Package: Up to £67K + performance bonus + benefits

Hours: Full time or Part time

Experience: You must be a GOC registered Optometrist


We are seeking an Optometrist with vision and purpose to join our expanding team at Specsavers in Colchester. This is an opportunity to become part of something brilliant.

Colchester

Colchester is in the East of England, within the county of Essex. It is situated close to the coast in East Anglia, on the border with Suffolk, and approximately 50 miles North-East of London. The town can be easily reached from London in under an hour by train from Liverpool Street Station or by driving via the A12. Additionally, it is conveniently located near London Stansted and London Southend Airports, as well as Harwich International Port for ferry travel.


Our Store

Our store in Colchester features 12 testing rooms, including 2 dedicated to hearcare. We provide EOS clinics daily and special kid’s days, ensuring a unique experience each day. Our strong connections with local hospitals enhance our service, and we take pride in our long-standing team and welcoming atmosphere.

Our Team

Our team includes 4 Optometry Directors with over 50 years of combined experience in optometry. We are particularly proud of our Pre-Reg programme, which has seen many successful candidates, supported by our Principal Optometrist with over 15 years of experience. Our store benefits from a robust base of dispensing opticians, ensuring smooth operations and a strong support structure from our resident optometrists. This collaboration enhances the overall experience for our customers and reinforces our commitment to quality eye care.

What we’re looking for

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.

Your career development will be mapped and documented, targeting your career aspirations, and aligned to your clinical development. Your growth will become our store legacy and an inspiration to our Pre-Reg Optometrists of the future.
