Optometrist – Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Optometrist at Boots, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care—using the latest technology, working alongside experienced colleagues, and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Your responsibilities will vary daily, ensuring no two days are the same, and opportunities for growth are always available.

  • Leading clinics to deliver outstanding patient care
  • Assessing eye health using cutting-edge testing technology
  • Providing a breadth of enhanced services (triage, advanced assessments, depending on store needs)
  • Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
  • Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and sharing insights
  • Acting as a key contributor within your store’s leadership team, driving energy and authenticity

What You’ll Need (Must-Haves)

We’re looking for confident, compassionate Optometrists who prioritise patient welfare above all else.

  • GOC registered (or expected within 6 months)
  • NHS performer number (or working towards it)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for patient care and teamwork
