The Role
PRS is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced developer to join the Distribution Services Delivery Domain. Our Distribution Services products are Oracle cloud-based applications that support the royalty distribution value stream, helping to ensure our members are paid accurately. In this role, you will work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary squad, delivering change and supporting applications built on Enterprise Edition Oracle Databases, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and PL/SQL.
You should be an experienced Oracle PL/SQL engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proven experience working with complex PL/SQL data processes for large-scale custom applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of business processes, objectives, solution requirements, application processes, and performance needs.
- Participate in project, enhancement, and BAU initiatives, working with subject matter experts to understand specific requirements.
- Work within an Agile Scrum sprint team and collaborate closely with Technical Leads, Senior Engineers, QA, and Business Systems Analysts, contributing to effort estimation activities.
- Focus on product backend development, implementing new features and enhancing existing functionality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support development and testing activities.
- Support production applications by investigating and resolving production issues and inquiries.
- Use your development skills to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and maintainability of systems and their components.
- Promote and continuously improve technical standards and development best practices.
- Provide occasional support outside of standard business hours when required.

Essential
- Several years’ experience with high volume Oracle RDBMS Databases and Fusion Middleware
- You are an expert Oracle PL/SQL developer able to implement complex database programs including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, cursors, views, materialized views, collections, bulk processing, dynamic SQL, parallel processing.
- Demonstrable software development experience.
- You can develop complex PL/SQL data processes for large scale custom applications with robust error handling.
- Experience writing complex & optimal SQL Queries.
- Excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Oracle RDMS database architecture on the Cloud
- You have a solid experience designing partitioned and non-partitioned tables, indexes, temporary tables and external tables as well as SQL tuning and optimization of newly developed and existing applications.
- Oracle 19c Enterprise Edition on Exadata Platform
- Performance Tuning & Data Warehousing
- Multi-Terabyte Databases (VLDBs)
- You have BSc degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a equivalent qualification.

The Process
Our interview process for this role is simple and as follows:
- First stage interview virtually on MS Teams.
- Second stage interview in person at our London Bridge Hub.
We use competency-based questions within our interviews. This allows you to provide examples of situations where you have had to demonstrate the required skills relevant to the role you are applying for. To assist your preparation for interview, research the STAR method to aid bringing your examples to life.
Location
Our London Bridge Hub is based within Hays Galleria and overlooks the River Thames. When you see the view, we are sure you will want to join us in our collaborative working space!
We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home for up to 3 days per week. To ensure the health & safety of all our employees, if you wish to work from home for more than 2.5 days per week, we will conduct a quick and easy remote-working assessment.
