Oral Health Programmes Co-ordinator (Early Years)

£30,225 – £31,574 pro rata

Fixed Term Until July 2027, (secondment for internal staff) Part Time

14.4 hours per week typically across 2 full working days or spread over 3 shorter days

A hybrid working model, split between Wandsworth Town Hall and remote working

Objective of the Role

Richmond and Wandsworth Public Health are expanding the extended supervised toothbrushing programme (STP) under the Government’s Plan for Change to give children the best start in life and prevent ill health. The programme is being rolled out to children aged 3–5 across early years settings, including nurseries and primary schools, with a focus on those in the most deprived areas of each borough. You will support the rollout of the programme by increasing uptake among schools and early years settings, while contributing to programme delivery and sharing good practice to ensure the smooth running of the service. You will also support data collection and monitoring across the programme, using your analytical skills to interpret information and inform continuous service improvement.

About The Role

You will be a confident and proactive communicator with strong organisational and project coordination skills, enabling you to take a structured and systematic approach to engaging early years settings and increasing uptake of the supervised toothbrushing programme (STP). While you will not work directly with children and families, you will play a vital role in supporting those who deliver the programme by ensuring effective engagement and participation. You will also have a genuine interest in promoting young children’s health and a passion for improving outcomes in this important area. A background in a similar role is not essential; however, experience within public health, project management or business administration would be advantageous.

This is a fixed term contract or secondment for internal staff until July 2027. This is a part-time role of total 14.4 hours per week with a flexible approach of working across 2 full days or 3 shorter days. This is a hybrid role involving working from the council offices and home. You will be required to regularly work for the council offices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
