Oral Surgeon -Emersons Green, Bristol
Competitive salary. Part-time. 16 hours per week working Mondays and /or Fridays only. Private pension with employer contributions. 25 days annual leave up to a max. of 28 days (Pro-rata for part-time employees) + UK Bank Holidays. Practice Plus Group, based in Emersons Green (North Bristol) and Devizes are currently hiring Oral Surgeons.
We are looking for team members that share our values; always striving for improvement and innovation, working efficiently while still giving high quality patient centred care. If you would enjoy helping complex and/or anxious patients get the surgery they need in a well-supported, modern setting get in touch.
We are looking for oral surgeons on the GDC specialist list or Associate Specialists with a wealth of experience to join our team. We are contracted to remove teeth, roots, impacted wisdom teeth and perform coronectomies. We have the support of a radiology department who take our OPGs and CBCTs. In our well-equipped theatre complex we have an admissions team, experienced oral surgery dental and scrub nurses. We are supported by Operating Department Practitioners while sedating our patients so that we can deliver an efficient, safe and smooth patient experience.

What you'll be doing
All full-time roles are 40 hours per week. We can offer a variety of full or parttime options at either site at present.
The post holder will be required to assess, manage and treat patients referred from primary care. They will work in accordance with hospital and treatment centre protocols and working practices.
They will assess NHS and private patients on an outpatient clinic, then treat them in a theatre environment.
Treatment will be delivered under local anaesthetic or LA with intravenous sedation (single drug, midazolam sedation). Accreditation in IV sedation having delivered 20 supervised cases or a willingness to train is essential.
The post holder will be required to participate in audit, research and management of the service.
It is anticipated that the post holder will engage in specific management tasks and contribute to departmental meetings and bi-monthly clinical governance meetings in agreement with the Medical Director.

What we'll look for in you
You will need to be GDC registered and either on the Specialist List or held an Associate Specialist role with evidence of extensive experience. You must be capable of delivering a variety of oral surgery procedures with LA, and experience of IV sedation-ideally with certification to work independently or working towards this. You should have experience in requesting and interpreting small volume CBCTs, with a level two certificate desirable.
