Location: Harlow (Office Based)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time | 36.5 Hours per Week
The Opportunity
We are delighted to be working with a growing and highly respected organisation within the specialist supply chain sector, who are looking to recruit an experienced Order Fulfilment Manager to join their operations team based in Harlow.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional who enjoys leading a team while driving process improvements and operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring customer and supplier orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.

The Role
As the Order Fulfilment Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small office-based team overseeing the complete order lifecycle—from order entry and supplier management through to delivery progression and customer communication.
You'll lead the day-to-day operation of the department whilst identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce delays and enhance the overall customer experience.
This is a varied role that combines team leadership, operational management and continuous improvement within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop the Order Fulfilment team.
- Allocate workloads and manage departmental priorities.
- Conduct one-to-one meetings, coaching and performance reviews.
- Develop team capability through training and cross-skilling.
- Ensure effective holiday and absence cover.

Order Fulfilment
- Manage the end-to-end order fulfilment process.
- Oversee contract reviews, sales order processing and purchase order creation.
- Monitor supplier confirmations and delivery schedules.
- Ensure accurate order progression and timely customer updates.
- Maintain accurate information within Sage 50 and internal systems.
Performance & Process Improvement
- Monitor KPIs and identify operational trends.
- Investigate delays and implement corrective actions.
- Use Root Cause Analysis and Pareto Analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Improve departmental processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support automation initiatives and system enhancements.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships across Sales, Purchasing and Operations.
- Communicate order updates and delivery information clearly.
- Escalate supplier, capacity and operational issues where required.
- Represent the Order Fulfilment function in cross-departmental meetings.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience within an order processing, supply chain, purchasing or sales operations environment and will enjoy leading a team while improving business processes.
You'll also possess:
- Previous experience managing or supervising a small team.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Experience using KPIs to monitor and improve performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP, order management or accounting systems.
- The confidence to embrace new systems and technology.

Desirable Experience
Whilst not essential, the following experience would be advantageous:
- Sage 50
- Aerospace, defence, electronics or manufacturing sectors
- ISO 9001, AS9120 or similar quality standards
- Process improvement methodologies
- Root Cause Analysis
- Pareto Analysis
- Supplier performance management
- ERP implementation or system improvement projects
