I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the Team
At present, the farm team consists of a Farm Manager, a farm worker, 2 support workers, between 2 and 8 adults with learning disabilities, and about 3 volunteers.
Position Details
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week @ 12.90 / hour. Shifts include weekends and rotas, and holidays are arranged according to the farm’s needs and as far as possible the individuals’ needs. The welfare of our animals is an important feature in the community.
The full herd (45 head) is grazed outside in the summer and spends the winter in a large light barn, with straw-bedded sleeping cubicles and plenty of roaming space in the yard and under the roof. The cattle supply milk, meat, yoghurt, butter and cream cheese to the community.
