Purpose of Role

Lead MKM's organic growth strategy, driving visibility, customer acquisition and revenue through SEO, content, Digital PR, local search and emerging AI-powered search platforms. Working across Digital, Marketing, Commercial and Trading teams, you'll ensure MKM is discoverable wherever customers search, research and buy.

Key Responsibilities

Organic Growth Strategy

  • Own and deliver MKM's organic growth roadmap.
  • Align activity with commercial priorities and customer demand.
  • Embed search best practice across the business.

SEO & Website Optimisation

  • Lead technical SEO improvements including site architecture, indexation, structured data and Core Web Vitals.
  • Work with Development teams to improve visibility, user experience and conversion performance.
  • Act as the SEO lead within development and release planning discussions, ensuring new features, site changes and platform enhancements protect and improve organic visibility.
  • Assess the SEO impact of major website developments, migrations, product launches and technical releases before implementation.

AI Search & Future Discovery

  • Improve MKM's visibility across AI-powered search experiences.
  • Optimise content and digital assets for discoverability, citations and authority.
  • Identify opportunities created by changing search behaviours and technologies.

Local Search & Branch Visibility

  • Own and develop MKM's local search strategy across the branch network, maximising visibility, engagement and lead generation through Google Business Profiles, Yext and other local search platforms.
  • Ensure branch information, services and product availability are accurate and consistent across all local listings, whilst monitoring and improving rankings, reviews and customer engagement.
  • Work closely with Branch Directors to identify local growth opportunities, support branch campaigns and drive branch-level performance.

Content, Local Search & Product Visibility

  • Develop the search-led content roadmap.
  • Improve product content, customer journeys and local branch visibility.
  • Use customer insight and search demand to identify growth opportunities.

Digital PR & Authority

  • Deliver Digital PR activity that builds authority, coverage and backlinks.
  • Develop relationships with relevant industry and trade media.
  • Support thought leadership and reputation-building initiatives.

Performance, Reporting & Innovation

  • Monitor organic performance and provide actionable insight.
  • Build dashboards measuring traffic, revenue and visibility.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency and performance.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience delivering successful SEO and organic growth strategies in ecommerce or omnichannel environments.
  • Comfortable leading technical SEO discussions with development teams, assessing the impact of website changes, releases and platform enhancements to protect and improve organic visibility at scale.
  • Strong understanding of technical, local and content SEO.
  • Experience with GA4, Google Search Console and leading SEO platforms.
  • Knowledge of Digital PR, authority building and content strategy.
  • Understanding of AI search and emerging search technologies.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder management skills.

  • Organic traffic, revenue and conversions.
  • Search visibility and share of search.
  • AI search visibility and brand citations.
  • Digital PR coverage and authority signals.
  • Local search and branch performance.
  • ROI from organic growth initiatives.
