Job Title: Organisation Design Manager
Work Level: WL2C
Location: Kingston
Purpose of the Role
Unilever is reshaping how it operates — across GBS, Supply Chain & Operations, and through major M&As. This role sits at the heart of that change. You'll design the organizational structures, roles, and workforce plans that make transformation real — bringing clarity to complexity and ensuring our teams are set up to deliver in an increasingly AI-enabled world.
Key Responsibilities
1. Organisation Design – Supply Chain & Operations, GBS
- Own end-to-end organisation design for 1-2 GBS value streams (e.g., Forecast to Report, Source to Pay) or Supply Chain & Operations functional programs (Customer Operations, GDT, Procurement).
- Design target operating models that:
- Simplify structures
- Reduce layers
- Enable scalable delivery across markets
- Interlock with Intelligent GBS processes
- Optimise:
- Spans of control
- Reporting lines
- Benchmark against best-in-class global standards
- Align all design work with Mirai, Intelligent GBS, and Unilever’s broader transformation priorities
2. AI and the Future of Organisation Design
- Assess how AI, automation, and agentic tools are transforming:
- Roles
- Decision rights
- Team structures
- Design with redesigns that account for these changes
- Build governance frameworks for:
- AI-augmented operations (defining who decides, who oversees, accountability flows)
- Redefine role families to reflect:
- Human-AI collaboration (deciding what is automated, augmented, and human)
3. Workforce Planning & Analytics
- Build and maintain workforce plans connecting:
- Headcount
- Skills
- Capability needs to transformation roadmaps

Who Will You Work With?
You’ll collaborate with:
- HR Business Partners
- Functional leads
- Group OD team
- Project Managers (PMOs)
- Change & Communications team to ensure understanding of changes and their impact
- Governance forums, design reviews, and Steer Co’s
What Will You Bring?
Essential
- Experience in organisation design, workforce planning, or transformation in large, global businesses
- Experience with M&A organisation design (a plus but not required)
- Understanding of:
- How AI reshapes roles, governance, and org. models
- Ability to:
- Analyze business operating models and business value chains
- Perform scenario modelling for:
- Org design choices’ impact on execution
- Decision-making
- Key metrics (costs, spans, etc.)
- Work effectively across complex matrix teams
- Collaborate, challenge the status quo, and influence senior stakeholders
Technical Skills
- Analytical mindset with confidence using:
- Workforce analytics
- Scenario modelling
- Tools: Orgvue, Workday, Power BI
Communication
- Sharp communication skills to simplify complex org design concepts for any audience.
