OT Clinical Support Worker
Occupational Therapy Support Worker (Band 4) – Acute Stroke & Critical Care (NHS Fife)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists within the NHS Fife Occupational Therapy Service for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Support Worker to join the Acute Stroke Occupational Therapy team. This role will primarily be based at Victoria Hospital, Fife, with travel across Fife required for:
- Providing and returning clinic supplies/equipment
- Conducting post-treatment follow-up visits
You will support the Occupational Therapy team in delivering client-centred interventions, focusing on regaining independence in activities of daily living to facilitate discharge from hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the team in delivering a range of otactions for patients recovering from stroke and critical care conditions
- Supporting multi-disciplinary interventions in a fast-paced, diverse environment
- Carrying out independent yet high-standard tasks with a complex patient cohort
- Assisting in equipment set-up, therapy activities, and client care planning
- Working flexibly across stroke wards and critical care settings
- Engaging with patients to improve functional abilities and promote recovery

Essential Requirements
✅ Essential Qualification: SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or proof of attainment in progress (Formal occupational therapy training is not a requirement for this support worker role)
✅ Must be legally entitled to work in the UK (or eligible for sponsorship via Health & Care Worker Visa if applying outside UK nationwide) – see notes below.
Desirable
✔ Previous experience working with stroke patients or in critical care ✔ Experience in rehabilitation or activity-based interventions ✔ Understanding of independence & discharge planning
