Closing date: 31 July

About the role:

We're looking for an OT Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber team and help protect critical operational technology across Drax's growing portfolio of energy assets. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from reviewing new acquisitions and supporting risk assessments to designing secure OT architectures and helping shape cyber security standards across the business.

You'll work closely with engineering, IT, security and project teams, providing expert advice on OT cyber security and supporting projects throughout their lifecycle. This role offers a high level of autonomy, exposure to new technology and the opportunity to make a real impact in a business driving the transition to a lower-carbon future.

We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, whether your experience sits within industrial networking, infrastructure, control & instrumentation, OT environments or cyber security. If you have strong technical foundations and a passion for securing critical infrastructure, we'll support your development where needed.

You'll ideally bring experience in some of the following:

  • Experience working within industrial, OT or cyber security environments
  • Knowledge of ICS/OT security frameworks such as IEC 62443 or NIS regulations
  • Strong network, infrastructure or industrial communications experience
  • The ability to build relationships and work across multidisciplinary teams
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to work independently

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
