Your role
The IT/OT Data Architect defines and governs how operational technology (OT) and SCADA data is structured, integrated, and managed across the enterprise to support resilient operations, regulatory reporting, and advanced analytics. Operating at practice and enterprise scale, the role ensures industrial data is consistently modelled, secure, and fit for use across real-time operations and cloud-based analytics platforms, aligning OT data domains with our client’s Azure data lake and broader IT/OT convergence strategy.
- Own and evolve the enterprise SCADA and OT data architecture, including real time telemetry, historians, events, and operational context across multi site environments.
- Design and govern a unified namespace and data model, ensuring consistent asset, tag, signal, and hierarchy standards across OT systems.
- Define and assure integration patterns between SCADA, historians, telemetry platforms, and Azure data & analytics services, balancing latency, reliability, and scalability.
- Establish OT data governance standards covering data quality, ownership, naming, lineage, retention, and alignment with master and reference data.
- Translate operational and regulatory needs into clear data requirements for dashboards, KPIs, analytics, audit, and event replay, providing architectural leadership across IT/OT convergence initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
