Role Overview
We are currently looking for an OTC Trader & Buyer to join a leading UK pharmaceutical wholesaler based in Bedfordshire to strengthen their purchasing and commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced trading professional to play a vital role in sourcing, purchasing, and trading over-the-counter (OTC) products across the UK and international markets.
As part of a growing company, you will help develop supplier relationships, negotiate advantageous deals, and identify market opportunities that support the expansion of our client’s OTC portfolio. This role offers a fantastic platform to make a tangible impact within a vibrant and expanding healthcare environment.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Your duties as the OTC Trader & Buyer will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Source, purchase, and trade OTC medicines, healthcare products, vitamins, and wellness items to meet business demands and growth targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers to optimise product sourcing and supply chain efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing, rebates, and supply agreements to secure the best commercial terms for the business.
- Monitor market trends, shortages, and demand to identify profitable trading opportunities and minimise stock shortages.
- As the OTC Trader & Buyer, you will support the development of new product ranges, oversee supplier performance, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.

Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the OTC Trader & Buyer, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Business / Supply Chain Management).
- Proven experience in OTC purchasing, pharmaceutical buying, healthcare product procurement, or OTC trading within a similar environment.
- Strong negotiation, commercial, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to analyse market data and identify opportunities.
