Job Description: Out & About Volunteer
TO APPLY EMAIL: sandra.williams@adscharity.com
Out & About is a popular service delivered by Alzheimers Dementia Support, a local independent charity.
About the Service
Our aim is to provide carers in our community with planned respite, whilst providing a fun day out for their loved one who has a diagnosis of dementia. The service is led by our Out & About Service Leader supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Service Details
The service takes place on Tuesdays in Maidenhead. We are seeking volunteers to join our established team, supporting the service one day every other week, or perhaps on a bank basis. Currently, we have a lot of gentlemen accessing our service, so male volunteers are of particular importance although female volunteers are always welcome, as the balance changes regularly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
