2 x Band 7 Out of Hours (OOH) Medical Provider Posts – Inverness

Salary: £119,044 - £142,908 per annum (pro rata)


About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inverness Out of Hours (OOH) Service, based at Raigmore Hospital. You will join a welcoming, dedicated team providing medical care to a diverse range of patients across acute, medical and palliative care.

The role will see you work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Advanced Practitioners, GPs and Nurses, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. The work is varied and rewarding, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives outside of standard working hours.


Working Pattern

The OOH role operates during the following shifts:

  • Monday – Friday: 18:30 – midnight
  • Saturday – Sunday: 09:00 – midnight

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical assessment and treatment to patients presenting at the Out of Hours service
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver diverse, high-quality care
  • Manage both acute medical presentations and end-of-life/palliative care
  • Ensure adherence to NHS Scotland clinical standards and best practice guidelines
  • Maintain professional standards, adaptability, and teamwork

Requirements

  • Fast-paced, professional, and hardworking individual with a passion for general medicine
  • Experience or willingness to work in Out of Hours (OOH) settings is beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine (or equivalent registration) with current GMC registration
  • Ability to work flexibly across a variety of medical specialisms (acute and palliative care)
