Large Scale (Commercial Events Manager)
Salary: ££47,000 per annum Location: Wing Water, Rutland Contract: Permanent

About the Role
As our Large Scale, Commercial Events Manager, you’ll be the accountable leader for end-to-end event delivery, shaping our parks' portfolio from concept to post-event evaluation. This high-impact role demands:
- Growing our large-scale events, filming and promotional offerings
- Protecting safety, financial success, compliance, and reputation
- Delivering memorable experiences with tangible return on investment
Key Responsibilities
You’ll own complex, bespoke, and high-stakes workloads like:
- Large public events & festivals
- Filming & media activities
- Specialist commercial hires
Below are the core responsibilities to elevate our parks (Rutland, Grafham, Alton, Pitsford & Taverham Mill) as a showcase for commercial outdoor events across the Eastern Region:
- Strategy & Sales
- Shape and deliver large-scale, outdoor, and commercial events strategy across the parks.
- Identify and develop income-generating opportunities, partnerships, and media use.

Event Planning & Logistics
- Lead contract negotiations, licensing, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
- Oversee event delivery and post-event evaluation, ensuring compliance and performance tracking.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Interact with internal park teams, external organisers, partners, emergency services, and authorities.
- Work with Senior Stakeholders to deliver events while maintaining Avatar Parks’ One Team, One Experience approach.

Risk & Compliance
- Ensure health & safety standards and regulatory compliance for all large-scale events.
- Act as the single point of accountability for delivery oversight and adherence to agreements.

What We’re Looking For

- Have proven experience in managing complex or large-scale events in public, outdoor, or filmed settings.
- Can confidently own contracts, risk, safety, and compliance while still driving innovation.
- Think commercially, measuring return on investment against outcomes.
- Deliver under pressure with decision-making clarity and are able to work across fast paced environments.
- Are relational and able to partner with diverse stakeholders while adapting scope to ensure success & safety.
- Cherish development and growth, seeking to develop new ideas for park events.
