Gambling harm affects millions of people across the UK, yet stigma and lack of awareness mean many never seek support. As an Outreach & Training Practitioner at GamCare, you'll be at the heart of changing that, delivering community outreach, awareness sessions and workforce training that help people recognise harm earlier and find the right support sooner. This is frontline, face-to-face work that genuinely matters.
You'll work across your region, partnering with local organisations, statutory services and community groups to make GamCare's services visible and accessible to the people who need them most. Whether you're running a workshop for professionals, holding a conversation at a community drop-in or delivering a brief intervention with someone who's never spoken about their gambling before, your work will have real and lasting impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you
With a background in community outreach, prevention, or early intervention, you’ll understand how stigma and harm interact, and know how to have sensitive conversations that motivate change. You might come from drug and alcohol services, mental health, public health or the VCSE sector, or you may have lived experience of gambling harm yourself. Either way, if you're compassionate, organised and genuinely committed to reaching communities that are often overlooked, we want to hear from you.
