Recovery Worker – Outreach Team (Bournemouth)

Position: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week), Fixed-Term Contracts Location: Bournemouth Salary: £26,250 – £30,900 per annum (incremental)

We’re recruiting a compassionate and motivated Recovery Worker to join our Outreach Team, helping transform lives by providing specialist support to individuals facing drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges. What You’ll Do

As a Recovery Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering outreach services with deep impact:

  • Assertive Outreach

    • Build trust with individuals experiencing homelessness across the BCP area.
    • Establish collaborative relationships to offer ongoing support.
  • Community Engagement

    • Lead and deliver drop-in sessions and support groups across multiple locations.
    • Adapt approaches to meet clients where they are.

  • Personalised Casework

    • Provide tailored interventions from initial contact to long-term stability.
    • Advocate for clients across partner agencies.
  • Harm Reduction & Rapid Support

    • Implement strategies to mitigate risks and promote healthier choices.
    • Facilitate access to rapid prescribing services.
  • Bespoke Interventions

    • Deliver targeted psychological and social interventions (PSIs) for complex needs.
    • Grow multi-agency collaborations to ensure seamless client support.
  • Pre-Treatment & Ongoing Care

    • Guide clients through pre-treatment phases, including inpatient detoxes and rehabilitation pathways.
    • Ensure precise, timely interventions to help clients achieve their goals.

About the Role

This is a full-time role (37.5 hrs), operating Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 (with occasional evening work). We’re currently seeking two Recovery Workers on fixed-term contracts:

  • Contract 1: 01/06/2027
  • Contract 2: 02/03/2029

Job Ref: 0140ZS & 0141ZS

Salary Note: Starting at £26,250/year with annual incremental rises up to £30,900/year.

✔ Communication & Engagement:

  • Inspiring and engaging with diverse client groups.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with PCNs (Primary Care Networks), CMHTs, Access Wellbeing Hubs, and Steps 2 services.

✔ Organisational Tenacity:

  • Strong time management and ability to simultaneously support multiple clients.
  • Flexibility to attend multi-agency meetings or crises as required.

✔ Emotional & Practical Support:

  • Provide low-level emotional support (e.g., anxiety, depression, mental health freestanding).
  • Work with individuals facing neurodiversity challenges or barriers to access care.

✔ Advocacy & Advice:

  • Advocate on behalf of clients for appointments or services.
  • Help navigate external mental health pathways.

✔ Essential Qualifications:

  • Must hold a UK Driving Licence + access to a vehicle (essential for outreach work).

Ideal Experience (but not mandatory): ✔ Previous paid work or volunteering in substance misuse support. ✔ Lived experience in recovery—your insights are valuable!
