About Quantum Scholars

Quantum Scholars is proud to have been approved onto Herefordshire Council's Alternative Provision Framework and is preparing for a significant increase in learner referrals across Ledbury and the surrounding areas from September 2026.


About The Learners

The young people we support may have:

  • SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and other mental health needs
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
  • Medical needs
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

The Role

As An Outreach Tutor, You Will Deliver Personalised, Face-to-face Learning And Mentoring Sessions That Are Tailored To Each Learner's Individual Needs. This May Include:

  • One-to-one tuition across core or specialist subjects
  • SEND and SEMH interventions
  • Academic, social and emotional support
  • EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) provision
  • Alternative Provision support
  • Confidence-building and learner engagement activities

Sessions are typically delivered in a learner's home or within an appropriate community setting, allowing you to provide flexible, individualised support that helps young people re-engage with education.

We are particularly looking for tutors who can work in Ledbury, Colwall, Bosbury, Wellington Heath, Eastnor, Bromsberrow, and the wider surrounding areas, with ongoing referrals expected throughout the academic year.

We're Keen To Hear From Individuals With Experience As:

  • Outreach Tutors
  • SEND Tutors
  • SEMH Tutors
  • Teachers
  • Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
  • Teaching Assistants
  • Behaviour Mentors
  • Youth Workers
  • Pastoral Support Staff
  • SEND Support Workers

You Should Have

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
  • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, youth work or SEND support
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • The ability to travel within Ledbury and surrounding areas
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (highly desirable due to the location of many learner referrals)
