Outsourcing Assistant
Outsourcing Assistant – Farnham
TC Group, the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK, are looking for an Outsourcing Assistant to join our Accounts department based in our Farnham office.
The Role
We’re business advisors and accountants with over 30 years of experience – we’ve honed our expertise and developed a wider range of bespoke services to support ambitious business owners. Your role won’t just be a traditional data-handling position. You’ll provide active support to the Outsourcing Team, directly engaging with clients and assisting with hands-on bookkeeping tasks when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including:
- Preparing and reconciling main control accounts
- Conducting month-end reviews
- Reviewing client entries, recommending corrections or efficiency improvements
- Resolving queries and challenges efficiently
- Drafting VAT returns and liaising with clients before submission
- Filing VAT returns and communicating directly with HMRC when necessary
- Admin tasks, including document management and client correspondence
- Supporting clients with the use of bookkeeping / accounts software packages
- Conducting ad-hoc client visits to troubleshoot bookkeeping issues or deliver project-based solutions

Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- Qualified AAT member or AAT Level 3-equivalent
- Essential: Proficiency in Xero (preferably Xero certified)
- Experience preparing VAT returns and understanding of MTD & ITSA highly advantageous
- Background in management accounts considered valuable
- Basic knowledge of CIS schemes
- Accurate data entry with strong Excel, Word & Outlook competency
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Awareness of CCH software (Bonus)
- Client-facing acumen and ability to liaise independently or collaborate as part of a team

Details
📍 Department: Accounts 💼 Contract: Permanent 🕒 Hours: 23.5–39.5 hrs per week (Monday–Friday) 💰 Salary: £28,000–£33,000 (commensurate with experience/qualifications)
