Ready to come off the tools but not step away from the industry?

If you're an experienced Overhead Lines professional looking to stay hands-on without the constant travel and working away, this is your chance to take your career in a new direction.

We're working with a leading technical training provider who is looking for a time-served industry expert to step into an Instructor role—and they'll train you to be a trainer.

This is ideal for someone who:

  • Has solid overhead lines experience
  • Is physically fit and enjoys practical work
  • Wants to be home most nights (Manchester-based 90% of the time)
  • Is ready to pass on their knowledge to the next generation

Role Overview

This is not a classroom-heavy role—around 80% of your time will be spent delivering practical, hands-on training as follows:

  • Deliver high-quality practical training in overhead line construction & maintenance
  • Support classroom-based learning when required
  • Design and develop engaging training programmes
  • Assess learners against industry standards (NVQ / Diploma / End Point Assessment)
  • Ensure all training is delivered safely and in line with legislation
  • Work closely with industry clients to meet training needs
  • Support learners to achieve recognised qualifications

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
