Role Overview

As the Owner (full-time, on-site Peterborough), you will take full end-to-end ownership of a defined business area, product or service. This demands deep strategic insight, operational efficiency and customer-centric leadership.

Tools like strategy, roadmaps, performance metrics and cross-functional collaboration will underpin your work. Success hinges on championing Aegon’s mission: giving customers confidence to achieve lasting financial wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define objectives and key results, aligning them with financial wellbeing and wider company goals
  • Develop and oversee delivery roadmaps, balancing commercial imperatives, compliance and customer benefits
  • Ensure portfolio alignment and long-term success while driving innovation and customer value

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, technology, compliance and marketing teams
  • Prioritise initiatives, manage stakeholder expectations and streamline workflows
  • Foster partnerships to improve processes, efficiency and financial outcomes

Performance & Risk Management

  • Monitor key metrics and make data-driven decisions
  • Identify risks and issues, implementing solutions while upholding regulatory and customer-centric standards
  • Champion operational excellence in collaboration with all teams

Leadership & Communication

  • Present to senior leadership, providing progress updates and strategy insights
  • Advocate for customers, ensuring their needs shape every decision
  • Inspire change and continuous improvement, aligning with Aegon’s customer-first vision

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product or business ownership (or leadership of a defined service area) within financial services, healthcare or heavily regulated sectors
  • Strong strategic planning, roadmap development and prioritisation skills—balancing customer needs, commercial outcomes and regulatory accountability
  • Cross-functional expertise: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with operations, technology, risk and marketing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience using data, metrics and customer insights to drive results
