Location: Tower Hamlets Rate: £110–£120 per day Start Date: September 2026 Role: Secondary School

About the Role
A fantastically ambitious secondary school in Tower Hamlets is recruiting exceptional Oxbridge Graduate Academic Mentors to begin in September 2026. Ideal for graduates passionate about education, social mobility, and considering a teaching career, this full-time role offers unparalleled experience and support.
Responsibilities
As an Oxbridge Graduate Academic Mentor, you will:
- Support pupils across KS3, KS4, and KS5 in your specialist subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Geography, History, Religious Education, Psychology, Economics, Computer Science, Modern Foreign Languages)
- Deliver small-group and 1:1 academic interventions
- Assist teachers during lessons, focusing on GCSE and A Level support
- Help stretch high-achieving students and support those below target
- Build students' confidence, motivation, and independence through academic activities
- Provide university preparation, including guidance on Russell Group and Oxbridge applications (personal statements, academic enrichment)
- Collaborate with subject leaders, teachers, and pastoral teams
- Gain actionable teacher training experience for future certification

Candidate Requirements
Exceptional candidates must meet:
- Degree: 2:1 or First-Class from Oxford or Cambridge
- Academic strength (GCSE & A-Level): At least grades A-B (or equivalent) in core subjects
- Must: Demonstrate enthusiasm for education, social mobility, and working in challenging inner-city schools
- Personal qualities: Proactive communication, strong subject knowledge (preference on listed specialisms), dedication to youth support, and auditorial ability
- Pedagogical vision and go-getter attitude essential
