Purchase to Pay (P2P) Process Lead – Finance

6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Hybrid – Greater Manchester

Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 + Benefits Package

Our client is seeking an experienced Purchase to Pay (P2P) Process Lead to join their Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong P2P expertise who enjoys delivering change, driving process improvements and working across a complex, fast-paced business.

Joining at a pivotal time, you'll play a key role in supporting finance transformation initiatives, improving operational efficiency and embedding best practice across the end-to-end Procure to Pay function.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance leadership team, you will lead and deliver process improvement initiatives across the Purchase to Pay lifecycle. Working collaboratively with Finance, Procurement, Shared Services and operational stakeholders, you'll identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls and enhance overall performance.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in project-focused environments and can quickly build credibility with stakeholders while delivering tangible business improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Drive automation opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance and reporting.
  • Analyse process performance using data and reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Shared Services and wider business teams.
  • Manage multiple improvement projects, delivering against agreed objectives and timelines.
  • Produce and maintain process documentation and governance.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across functions and international teams.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement throughout the finance function.

About You

You'll be an experienced P2P professional with a proven track record of delivering process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

You'll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience within Purchase to Pay, Procure to Pay or Finance Operations.
  • Strong financial and Procure to Pay management experience.
  • Proven success in identifying inefficient processes and implementing effective improvements.
  • Strong Excel skills together with experience of SAP, SAP BW, Power BI, Power Query or equivalent analytics tools.
  • Experience of process automation and workflow optimisation.
  • Experience working with vendor/customer portals, data collection and analytics.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management capability.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and geographical regions.
  • The ability to influence, motivate and deliver results within tight timescales.
  • Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
