Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced P6 Planner to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated planning professional with deep expertise in Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain fully integrated construction programmes using Primavera P6, covering all phases of the project lifecycle of the design.
- Resource-load and cost-load programmes accurately, reflecting labour, plant, equipment, and material requirements aligned to the work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Ensure that cost-loaded programmes align with project budgets, estimates, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project performance using earned value management techniques, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with commercial and finance teams to support progress valuations, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Conduct critical path analysis, develop mitigation programmes, and support claims preparation where delays occur.
- Interface regularly with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure programme integrity and accuracy.
- Provide weekly/monthly programme updates, reports, and lookahead schedules to senior management.
- Operate independently, demonstrating strong initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Primavera P6 Planner on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain resource- and cost-loaded construction programmes.
- Strong working knowledge of earned value management (EVM), programme risk analysis, and progress measurement.
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive approach to planning and scheduling challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to interfacing with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Immediate availability or short notice preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with NEC or FIDIC contract forms.
