PA to Commercial Director
Senior Administrative Assistant / Commercial Director PA (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Hybrid working (Peterborough, with 3 days in the office) Hours: Full-time (flexible for part-time) Salary: Circa £35k (depending on skills and experience)
About the Role
Be the driving force behind the Commercial Director, ensuring priorities stay on track while delivering major infrastructure programmes. As a trusted partner in Major Infrastructure Delivery (MID), you’ll:
- Support critical projects, such as Coastal Waters, Programme Delivery Partner, and the Major Projects Framework
- Operationalise the Director’s priorities, collaborating closely with senior leadership
- Drive efficiency in executive support, project coordination, and office administration
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support & Strategic Coordination
- Serve as the Commercial Director’s right-hand, managing a complex internal diary and ensuring all commitments are flagged, prioritised, and escalated appropriately
- Oversee meeting coordination, capturing actions, and tracking progress across commercial functions
- Act as primary point of contact for stakeholders—professional, discreet, and confident in representing the Director
- Anticipate needs, proactively resolving challenges to prevent delays
Documentation & Communication
- Produce high-quality presentations, reports, and correspondence to support decision-making
- Draft and execute communications for internal/external stakeholders while maintaining diplomatic tone

- Support internal processes, including new-starter onboarding, team events, and cultural initiatives
- Lead people-related administrative activities, fostering collaboration and motivation
Office & Logistical Support
- Manage travel, events, and dynamic logistics in a fast-moving environment
- Maintain an organised office environment, ensuring systems and resources align with operational needs
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record as a PA or Senior Administrative Assistant supporting senior leaders
- Exceptional organisational skills with precision under pressure—balancing multiple urgent priorities
- Rock-solid communication—building trust with diverse stakeholders through clarity and confidence
- Discretion and diplomacy—exhibiting integrity and sensitive handling of sensitive information
- Self-motivated nature—proactively tackling problems before they arise
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including spreadsheet mastery
- Advantageous: experience with people management, onboarding, or HR-related processes
- Strong team player with an adaptable, solution-focused mindset
