About The Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Package Manager to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London – join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
Management of the Subcontract including but not limited to Health and Safety, Scope, Programme, Quality, Risk, Cost and Resources. Construction/ Design Interface management between interfacing subcontracts (fit-out, steelwork, roof, façade, MEPH). Ensuring the quality of the work delivered is to the required standard. Managing the quality process. Support Package and Activity readiness activities, monitoring and resolution of blockers. Ensure compliance of subcontractor documentation/reporting to the Subcontract terms & conditions, project requirements and safe systems of work. Managing a small team of assistant package managers, ranging from apprentices to section engineers. Subcontractor and BBVS programme reviews. Value engineering, opportunities identification and progression. Identifying threats and opportunities, proposing and carrying out mitigation and managing risk.

Several years of experience leading construction engineering teams and/or subcontracts in major project/programmes environment. Experience in earthworks, civils, drainage, reinforced concrete and precast concrete works Good understanding of contracts and identifying notifiable events (NEC). Good general civil engineering experience on large infrastructure projects. Good understanding of consents (NR, TFL or LUL). Managing site activities & monitoring/reporting on subcontractors’ performance Experience in multidisciplinary interfaces environment. Ability to report clear and reliable information to client and senior level management. Experience in managing others.
