A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Cell Manager within our Packaging unit in Lincoln, UK, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless production operations and maintaining high-performance standards. You will lead a dedicated team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a collaborative environment where innovation and efficiency thrive. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing production activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is essential for achieving our targets in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, making a significant impact on our operational success and the overall business continuity.
You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Manufacturing Engineering and support functions, to resolve technical challenges and enhance production processes. Your leadership will not only guide your team towards achieving operational excellence but also contribute to a culture of safety and quality that underpins our commitment to delivering exceptional products.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Supervise and lead a team of manufacturing professionals, setting clear goals to drive operational success.
- Plan, direct, and monitor daily production activities to meet established schedules and cost objectives.
- Optimize resource allocation, including labor and equipment, to enhance workflow and production efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and compliance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing coaching and development opportunities for team members.
- Uphold quality control standards, ensuring all products meet required specifications.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing, to boost productivity and minimize waste.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records for production, quality, and safety in line with internal and external regulations.

What You Bring
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a precision engineering environment.
- Strong team management skills with a focus on developing and motivating team members.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- A degree or vocational qualification (HNC/HND) in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace, with a strong understanding of EHS standards.
