Ready to Take Ownership of Packaging – From Concept to Customers' Hands?

We are looking for a Packaging Development Engineer to take ownership of packaging development across Orkla House Care’s product portfolio, covering both own-produced and purchased goods.

Packaging plays a critical role in how our products are produced, transported, presented, and experienced by customers. It influences cost, quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction across every market we operate in.

This is a newly established role, offering a unique opportunity to shape how packaging supports our products and growth ambitions. Unlike many packaging roles, this position combines responsibility across packaging design, materials and supply chain performance, with influence spanning the full value chain.

You will report to the Product & Innovation Director and be part of an international Product & Innovation team, collaborating across functions, sites and markets throughout the value chain.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of packaging solutions across Orkla House Care's product portfolio, from concept to implementation, balancing product presentation, customer experience, functionality, operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Define innovative packaging concepts and structures that support both product and business needs across different markets and sales channels.
  • Drive material selection, development and specification in close collaboration with suppliers and our packaging procurement team, balancing performance, cost, sustainability and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify new material opportunities and lead initiatives that improve recyclability, reduce complexity and support compliance with packaging sustainability requirements across markets, including PPWR and local EPR frameworks.
  • Develop packaging solutions that support efficient manufacturing, logistics and product handling across the value chain.
  • Ensure packaging performance through testing, validation and continuous improvement, covering transport, storage and customer-facing environments.
  • Act as the packaging subject matter expert in development projects, collaborating across functions, sites and markets.
  • Own packaging specifications, drawings, bill of materials and related documentation, ensuring high-quality data and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
