Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Packaging Development Technologist to join our R&D team at our R&D centre and factory site.

Your primary function will be to develop packaging solutions to support our fast-paced New Product Development (NPD) programme. Initially, you’ll engage across all brands, with progression to focus depth on specific brands once experience grows.

You’ll explore packaging innovations, adopt new technologies, and ensure compliance with sustainability and regulatory best practices.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Packaging Innovation

  • Develop packaging solutions ensuring brand alignment, consumer appeal, cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Support artwork creation, reviews, and approvals, guaranteeing technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct artwork conformance checks, managing iterations and approvals via artwork management systems.
  • Assist with 3D packaging modifications (packs, components, and material changes).
  • Work closely with Marketing and Brand teams to translate packaging concepts into executable solutions.
    • Align them with optimal manufacturing routes (in-house or third-party).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Global Brand Building and external suppliers for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure monetisation-ready delivery and regulatory compliance.

Testing, Compliance & Issue Resolution

  • Execute/examine feasibility studies, risk assessments, and packaging testing, including external evaluations where needed.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation (specifications, artwork files, and test reports).
  • Guide packaging projects from concept to commercialisation, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for packaging-related production or in-market challenges.
