As a Packaging Technologist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our cheese brands by supporting the development and delivery of innovative, high-quality packaging solutions. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio including Cathedral City, Wensleydale and Davidstow, taking ideas from concept through to launch.
From running trials to managing specifications and due diligence, you’ll ensure our packaging not only looks great but performs brilliantly, meeting the needs of our customers, our sites, and our sustainability commitments. You’ll bring energy, curiosity, and creativity to the team, exploring new materials, technologies, and formats that keep us ahead of the market. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to bring innovations to life, while ensuring all compliance, reporting, and data requirements are met.
This role is based at our Nuneaton site with the option to work from home up to one day per week based on business need. Candidates must be able to work onsite at our Nuneaton site a minimum of 4 days per week.
Work pattern: Monday–Friday, 37 hours per week.
YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…
- Supporting the full packaging development lifecycle, from concept, feasibility, and trials through to implementation and launch.
- Generating ideas for new packaging formats, materials, and technologies.
- Planning and executing packaging trials (line, transit, materials, and testing).
- Managing packaging specifications, pallet plans, and documentation to ensure robust due diligence at every stage.
- Collaborating with wider teams including Marketing, Procurement, Operations, and Technical to deliver projects successfully.
- Building strong supplier relationships to accelerate innovation and improve speed to market.
- Supporting sustainability initiatives, including EPR and packaging waste data collection and reporting.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU …
- Are experienced within the food industry (ideally chilled), or have a strong interest in packaging development.
- Have a naturally curious mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Are confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Have a collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
