Packaging Technologist

Packaging Technologist

At Saputo

We bring good to the table by creating high-quality products, investing in our people, and supporting global communities. As a top 10 global dairy processor, we value meaningful contributions and foster an inclusive environment where you can thrive.

About the Role

As a Packaging Technologist, you’ll take a central role in developing and delivering innovative packaging solutions for our cheese brands—Cathedral City, Wensleydale, and others. Your work will span from concept development to full implementation, ensuring packaging is both aesthetically appealing and functionally superior.

You’ll engage in experimental trials, manage specifications, lead compliance reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. With a sustainable focus, you’ll help align packaging with EPR and waste-reduction goals.

Location: Primary base is at our Nuneaton site, with a flexible work model—up to 1 day per week remote, subject to business requirements. Onsite commitment is minimum 4 days/week.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 37 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Development & Innovation

  • Lead the full lifecycle of packaging solutions—from ideation to launch.
  • Generate creative ideas for new formats, materials, and technologies that drive market advantage.
  • Conduct trials (line, transit, and materials testing) to validate performance.
  • Sustain alignment with energy-efficient, recyclable materials and circular economy principles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
