PACS Administrator
Welbeck Health – Oxford Full Time | Monday – Friday | 40 Hours Per Week
About the Role
Welbeck Health is seeking a PACS Administrator to join its new state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging facility in Oxford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with PACS experience or a strong IT support background who is looking to develop a career within healthcare imaging informatics. The role will support the day-to-day operation of the imaging systems that underpin diagnostic services, ensuring images, reports and patient data are managed efficiently and accurately.
Full training will be provided on Welbeck's systems, including hands-on support from the established PACS team at Welbeck's London site prior to the Oxford facility opening.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the PACS and associated imaging systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating where necessary.
- Upload, download and transfer medical images through approved image exchange platforms.
- Support image routing, workflow management and database maintenance.
- Assist clinicians, patients and administrative staff with imaging system queries.
- Manage patient portal and image access requests.
- Ensure imaging data is accurate, secure and compliant with GDPR requirements.
- Liaise with external suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding system performance and upgrades.
- Support onboarding and training of staff using imaging systems.
- Maintain governance documentation, audit trails and incident records.
- Contribute to process improvements and service development initiatives.

What We're Looking For
We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Previous PACS administration experience would be highly desirable, but we are equally interested in individuals with strong IT skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong IT literacy and confidence using multiple software systems.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues and resolving problems independently.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support users of varying technical abilities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Experience
- Previous PACS or RIS administration experience.
- Experience working within healthcare, radiology or diagnostic imaging.
- Knowledge of DICOM workflows and image management systems.
- Clinical systems administration experience.
- Experience supporting users in a healthcare environment.

Training & Development
The successful candidate will spend time training with Welbeck's experienced PACS team in London before the Oxford centre becomes fully operational. Travel will be on a same-day basis and will provide valuable hands-on experience with the systems and workflows used across the organisation.
