York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the PACS Team as PACS Support Officer.

About the Role

Working as a PACS support officer you will be primarily responsible for the sharing of confidential patient information with our partner organisations, providing first-line support for our Radiology IT Systems and dealing with enquiries in an effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the storage, retrieval, and sharing of diagnostic medical images including X-rays, CT and MRI scans.
  • Working closely with the Radiology team, clinicians, administrative staff, and external healthcare organisations.
  • Facilitating the timely exchange of diagnostic images and associated information to support patient care, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making.
  • Coordinating image transfers between healthcare organisations using a range of approved systems.
  • Processing requests for copies of diagnostic images and related information.
  • Contributing to the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of imaging systems.
  • Identifying and reporting issues affecting service delivery.
  • Providing first-line support to users.
  • Assisting in the development of procedures, guidance, and training materials.
