Paediatric Care Assistant
Paediatric Healthcare Assistant - Komplex Care
Position: Paediatric Healthcare Assistant Location: Atherton, Greater Manchester Pay rate: £13.50 per hour Shifts:
- Day shifts: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Night shifts: 10:00pm – 8:00am

About the Role & Client
As a Paediatric Healthcare Assistant, you’ll provide care and support to a young child living in Alidridge, needing assistance in both home and school environments. The child and family actively enjoy holidays, requiring travel support including mobility van driving.

Key medical support requirements:
- Tracheostomy management
- Sleep apnoea support
- Oxygen therapy
- Personal care
- Medication administration
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in paediatric care (preferred but not mandatory)
- Compassion, resilience, and flexibility
- Ability to provide care to children with complex needs confidently
- Comfort advocating for 2:1 care provision
- A warm, bubbly attitude with strong emotional intelligence
- Commitment to collaborative, person-centred support
Key Responsibilities
- Medical Support:
- Assist with suctioning, PEG feeding, and medication administration.
- Guidance and direct support with tracheostomy care.
- Health Monitoring:
- Handle epilepsy management and emergencies.
- Respond promptly to medical needs.
- Personal Care & Mobility:
- Assist with daily personal routines.
- Support moving, handling, and mobility.
- Educational Support:
- Collaborate in school settings to encourage learning and development.
- Collaborative Care:
- Work closely with teachers, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure seamless support.

Essential Skills & Qualities
- Experience in medical or complex paediatric care (new entrants welcome with patience).
- Knowledge of tracheostomy care (desirable).
- Exceptional observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow complex care plans.
- Patience, empathy, and reassurance as core traits.

Desired but not essential: Level 2 or 3 NVQ/QCF qualification in healthcare.
Salary: £13.50 per hour
