About the Role
We are looking for a well-organised, motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team. F1ward offers a wide range of experience, caring for children and young people with a range of medical and surgical conditions. The ward consists of 26 beds including a 4 bedded Level 1 HDU and designated teenage beds. There is also an 8 bedded Paediatric Assessment Unit attached.
The role of Band 6 sister requires a proactive, forward-thinking nurse. The successful candidate will help further develop the team, whilst delivering exceptional levels of care and family support.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Support: Support and share the vision of the Senior Nursing team. Support and share the vision of the Senior Nursing team.
- Clinical Care: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in collaboration with children, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Administration: Safe administration of medications, monitoring and responding to changes in clinical condition, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to discharge planning.
- Family Support: Support children and their families during potentially stressful times, offering reassurance, education, and emotional support.
- Collaboration: Liaise with various health and social care professionals to ensure continuity of care and a holistic approach to treatment.
- Safeguarding: Participate in safeguarding processes, attend relevant meetings, and follow up on concerns appropriately.
- Service Improvement: Contribute to service improvement initiatives, uphold infection control standards, and promote a positive and inclusive environment.
- Personal Development: Opportunities for personal development through regular supervision, training, and involvement in clinical audits or projects.

- Excellent organisational, communication and team working and the ability to support and deliver paediatric care with effective leadership and management skills.
