Are you an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step in your leadership journey?
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and lead an innovative new service designed to transform support for children and young people with SEND across mainstream education settings.
As Clinical Lead within the new Experts at Hand Team, you'll combine advanced clinical practice with strategic leadership, helping schools identify and meet needs earlier while improving outcomes for children and families.
Working alongside the Service Management Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in developing a service that delivers real impact across Havering schools as part of the evolving SEND reform agenda.

The service combines:
- Direct therapy and assessment
- Staff training and coaching
- School consultancy and environmental audits
- Parent workshops and resources

You'll work directly with schools to create sustainable, long-term change that enables children to thrive in their learning environments.
What You'll Be Doing
As Clinical Lead, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision across the team
- Manage a highly specialist paediatric caseload
- Support therapists, assistants and students through mentoring and supervision
- Lead quality improvement and governance activity
- Contribute to strategic service growth and innovation
- Deliver expert consultation to schools, families and multidisciplinary professionals
- Develop and deliver training programmes to support inclusive practice
- Help shape the future direction of the Experts at Hand service
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has extensive experience working with children and young people with complex needs
- Is an experienced paediatric Occupational Therapist, typically with 8+ years post-qualification experience
- Demonstrates outstanding clinical reasoning and report writing skills
- Has experience supervising clinicians, assistants or students
- Enjoys leading, mentoring and developing others
- Is passionate about SEND, inclusion and early intervention
- Wants to make a genuine difference at both an individual and system-wide level
- Is excited by the opportunity to build something new
