About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their skills working within Children’s Therapy in a small and supportive team. We are looking for a self-motivated, friendly and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our established Children’s Therapy Team in North Lincolnshire.

Band 5-6 development considered

If you do not meet all the essential criteria this post may be considered as a Band 5-6 development in which case we would expect that competencies would be developed within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Speech and Language support and input to children, including children with a diverse range of more complex communication and feeding difficulties. This may include working in Special schools, Mainstream schools, Early years, wards/acute.
  • Support the team lead in new service development activities.
  • Provide high quality Paediatric Speech and language Therapy assessment and support for a wide range of less and more complex conditions, including dysphagia to provide evidence based and timely support reducing the risk of harm and improving outcomes.
  • Responsible for managing own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
  • Provide cross site cover and support for dysphagia as required.
  • Responsible for leading delegated service improvement and quality initiatives to drive forward improvement for CYP in our area.
  • Supervision, support and training for junior staff and other professionals to ensure a highly skilled, supported workforce.
  • Delivery of Training for settings, practitioners and carers.
  • Provision of Specialist written and verbal advice including statutory duties.
