Job Opportunity: Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to work within Children’s Speech and Language Therapy in the Knowsley Community Paediatric Service.
The successful candidate will:
- Work with children aged 0–18, supporting those with speech, language, and communication difficulties
- Collaborate to assess, treat, and support clients and carers in enhancing communication skills
- Provide high-quality therapy services in education settings, clinics, and clients’ homes
Experience in working with children/young people (0–18) with speech, language, and communication difficulties is highly beneficial.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborative Work:
- Partner with Speech and Language Therapy teams and assistants.
- Work closely with other agencies, families, and carers to support children’s communication needs.

Clinical Duties:
- Perform clinical assessments of speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Create differential diagnoses, intervention plans, and care reports as required.
- Implement therapeutic support tailored to individual needs.

Professional Standards:
- Uphold RCSLT competencies and maintain HCPC registration.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, group supervision, and appraisal processes.

Caseload Management:
- Manage caseloads with support from senior colleagues, who are experienced Speech and Language Therapists.

Training & Development:
- Engage with team-led training and ongoing professional development.
