Role Summary and Impact
This role focuses on managing the Petplan account—the UK’s leading pet insurer—with the option to support wider Allianz needs. As a Paid Search Account Manager, you will:
- Own the end-to-end execution of paid search strategy, optimisation, and analysis for Petplan.
- Lead a small team (1–3** juniors**), including offshore colleagues, ensuring high-performance execution.
- Support the Allianz account as a key point of contact.
Introduction to the Role
Petplan relies on paid search to reach pet owners at the critical decision-making moment, making your work directly impactful on business performance.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Campaign Management
- Manage designated paid search accounts (Petplan and occasional Allianz support), ensuring tactical and strategic optimisations are executed efficiently.
- Collaborate with the account director (AD) to devise and translate campaign strategy into actionable plans.
- Take ownership of client reporting, performance commentary, and deliverables, guiding junior teams in execution.
- Stay current with paid search best practices and contribute to broader agency improvement.
- Proactively manage forecasting, testing, and analysis.

🔹 Client and Partner Management
- Develop strong relationships with Petplan stakeholders and key suppliers.
- Build trust as a trusted advisor, fostering smooth collaboration across teams.
- Deep knowledge of pet insurance and financial services to guide strategic decisions.
- Identify and raise business challenges to help stakeholders uncover opportunities.
🔹 People Management
- Motivate and coach junior team members, providing feedback and mentorship.
- Assign and balance workloads, including offshore collaboration when needed.
- Assist in recruitment (interviews, ambassadorial duties) and onboarding.
- Support the wider team’s growth and understanding of paid search value.
🔹 Operational Excellence
- Leverage available technology and processes to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Proactively resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
- Identify and pursue new revenue and service opportunities.

✅ Required Expertise
- Proven paid search expertise, with current certifications (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads certified strongly recommended).
- Hands-on experience in:
- Bid management (SA360).
- Data analysis across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
- Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) for customised dashboards.
- Ability to manage Demand Gen and YouTube campaigns to drive performance and reach.
- Understands holistic search strategies, collaborating closely with organic and SEO teams.
- Drives innovation, testing, and continuous learning for clients and the team.
- Strong ability to communicate across diverse cultures and hierarchies.
