Paint Plant Operative Job - Newburn

About the Role

Stannah is a family-owned manufacturing and engineering company, specialising in products that move people and goods within homes and buildings. Our mission is to improve access for greater independence and convenience.

Founded in 1867, Stannah continues to grow as a global business, with the fifth generation of the family actively involved in its operations. Best known for our stairlifts, our product range includes lifts, escalators, homelifts, and related maintenance and repair services.

We are now looking to recruit a Dedicated Production Operative to join our newly developed Paint Plant Department at our Newburn site.

The Role

As a Paint Plant Operative, you will be responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading rail sections for painting
  • Wrapping and packing rail sections into crates, ensuring they are ready for safe transit
  • Working 36 hours per week under a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off (during training, you will work Monday to Friday)

This role comes with a competitive salary that includes 15% shift premium.

  • Prepare components for painting as per provided drawings
  • Hang components securely onto the relevant overhead track
  • Unload components and transport them to the packing area
  • Inspect work against quality criteria and ensure standards are met
  • Wrap individual components using the correct wrapping materials and techniques
  • Crate finished components for safe and efficient distribution
  • Perform re-work to high standards when required

Requirements

Essential:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing environment
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workloads
  • Willingness to participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Commitment to cross-functional training

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in manual shot blasting or powder coating operations
