The Fabric Technician
The Fabric Technician is the guardian of our building’s physical environment. This role is a unique blend of skilled craftsmanship and safety leadership, requiring someone who is as comfortable with a drill and a paintbrush as they are managing safety compliance and risk assessments. You will be the primary point of contact for all interior maintenance, ensuring the workspace remains high-functioning, aesthetically polished, and most importantly safe for all occupants.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out professional painting, decorating, drywall repairs, and sealant applications for both minor touch-ups and full refreshes.
- Manage the replacement of carpet tiles, raised flooring, and suspended ceilings, ensuring the building fabric remains in top condition.
- Conduct regular fabric condition surveys to eliminate hazards, draft technical RAMS, and secure permits for high-risk activities like working at height.
- Oversee specialist subcontractors for major structural or glazing works, ensuring they adhere to site safety protocols and quality standards.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests such as installing shelving, whiteboards, and racking, or assembling furniture to meet evolving team needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
