Communications Lead
Pan London | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | 37.5 Hours per Week
Shape the story. Strengthen the impact.
Across London, our services support thousands of people to make positive changes in their lives.
But impact only matters if people can see it, understand it and believe in it.
That is where you come in.
We are looking for a Communications Lead to shape how our London services connect with people, partners, commissioners, and communities. This is the first role of its kind across our London services, giving you the opportunity to build a bold, proactive communications approach across 12 services.
You will not simply respond to communication requests.
You will set the direction.
You will identify opportunities, shape narratives, strengthen reputation, and help ensure our services are visible, trusted, and understood.
A role with influence
Working closely with Directors, senior leaders, operational teams, and our Central Communications Team, you will develop and deliver a pan-London communications strategy that brings together local priorities and a clear, consistent London-wide voice.
You will help services communicate with confidence, anticipate what is needed, and make sure important messages reach the right people at the right time.
From service launches and stakeholder events to case studies, campaigns, and strategic updates, you will turn complex information into clear, engaging content that builds trust and demonstrates impact.
You will also spend time across our London services, finding the stories, ideas, and achievements that deserve to be shared.
What you will be doing
- Create and lead a pan-London communications strategy.
- Act as the central communications partner across 12 services.
- Advise senior leaders on communication opportunities, risks, and priorities.
- Build strong relationships with commissioners, partners, and operational teams.
- Identify and develop stories that demonstrate the impact of our services.
- Lead communications for events, launches, and major service updates.
- Create clear, accessible content for a wide range of audiences.
- Work with our media agency and Central Communications Team to raise the profile of services.
- Ensure communications are consistent with our brand, values, and tone of voice.
- Use insight and data to strengthen future communications activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
