The Role – As a Panel Beater

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Stripping and refitting parts where necessary
  • Ensuring proper panel alignment and adjustments
  • Identifying and reporting any damage beyond the original scope
  • Assessing and reporting on vehicle structure and paintwork
  • Ensuring all repairs meet safety standards
  • Safely removing, storing, and disposing of vehicle components, fluids, and gases
  • Completing quality control inspections at every stage
  • Following repair methods (e.g., e-scribe, manufacturer guidance) and recording them
  • Using protective coverings (seat covers, foot mats)
  • Performing filler repairs (P180 finish) with pinhole checks
  • Underseal, weld-through priming, and anti-corrosion treatment as required
  • Maintaining tools and reporting defects to your line manager

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar Panel Beater role
  • Motor manufacturer qualifications and experience
  • Driving licence (full UK)

Certifications & Training

  • Current AOM009 welding certificate (or BS equivalent)
  • Training in:
    • MIG braze welding
    • Spot welding
    • Riveting and bonding
    • High-strength and Boron steel awareness
    • Light MET qualification (ATA-linked)
    • Bonding certification
